Thank you, Jeni! I absolutely love this post and how you make it clear that pleasure and sensuality help us feel more (I was struck by your words, "pleasure necessitates an acceptance of pain"). I too believe that pleasure can be a delicious form of resistance, not as an avoidance strategy, but rather as a way to root us into ourselves and reclaim our power from structures and beliefs that aim to control us. Can't wait to see what's next. 💚

This is such an amazing observation, “…our culture has an aversion to pain and is thus unable to experience genuine pleasure.”

In the bit too distant past I was one of the Americans that was triggered by these ideas. Grateful for an amazing wife who helped me open my eyes.
